Thank You for a Wonderful 'First Sunday'

Sunday Morning Ministries 'First Sunday' Success

Yesterday was such a smooth and comfortable beginning to our Fall program it had to be recognized.  Everywhere I went was filled with laughter, love, great conversation, meaningful 'work' and of course, children. When this post hit my inbox this morning it inspired me to share and say thank you to all who participated.

Children of God

Posted: Sep 09, 2013 01:00 am
We see and hear in Jesus’ witness something profound about our posture towards children. They have inherent dignity, and we, like Jesus, need to raise them up. Surely all of us need to take on the care of at least one child. Whether we are parents, godparents, aunts and uncles, teachers, neighbors, friends, advocates…in some way doing some thing in the raising up of at least one child, and for the love of God.

This is the first of many Sundays to come and so I encourage you to prayerfully consider if working with children as a way of 'raising them up" is a calling or ministry you might choose.
Peace,
Elaine

Pass It On...

Prayer

Posted: Aug 26, 2013 01:00 am

If we presumed that what God is most up to, what God is most concerned about, what God is most active in is focused on us, then our prayer would likely turn into a rather petty occasion of spiritual narcissism rather than a participation in the transcendent life of God.
