Weekly Events at St. Thomas


Hello Everyone,

Here’s your weekly reminder of all the programs, services and events at St. Thomas during the next several days.  Please take particular notice of all events in colored print.


CONFIRMATION CLASSES
Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
 in the Founders’ Room for both adults and youth. 
We will meet through April 1st. 
Confirmation ceremony will be held
at St. Peters’ Cathedral on Saturday, April 6th.
 

EASTER EGG HUNT, SUNDAY, MARCH 31ST        
Festivities begin at 9 a.m. with the Egg Hunt
in the Curry Garden.  We’ll have refreshments
& flowers for the cross.  Don’t Miss It!


FIRST COMMUNION CLASS
Sunday, April 7th to May 12th
9 a.m. Canterbury Library
First Communion Service will be
Mother’s Day, May 12th
10 a.m. Traditional Service, Sanctuary
 

AFRICAN  JEWELRY  AND  CRAFTS
The African Jewelry and Crafts sale will be April 14th and 21st after
 the 8 and 10 a.m. Eucharists.  This has become an annual outreach
event at St. Thomas.  Whether you're looking for something for yourself, a
friend or a member of the family, stop by and look over the selections
available. This popular and worthwhile charity which assists children and
families in  South Africa always has unusual craft and jewelry items. 
It's a real 2-for-1...price to make you and those who benefit happy.


VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN PRESCHOOL
READING PROGRAM
Having fun with young children on Thursday evenings is what
St. Thomas volunteers do at Resurrection House.  While having fun,
we are also helping preschool children develop reading readiness skills
and others needed for success in kindergarten.  Currently we need
additional volunteers and there is no previous experience required. 
The program is from 6:30-7:30 p.m. every Thursday; volunteers may
choose how often they  are able to come. For information, contact

Tuesday, March 26th
Jr. Handbells is at 3:30 p.m. in the Guild Room.
Centering Prayer is at 6:30 p.m. in the Guild Room.
Chancel Choir Rehearsal is at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

 
Wednesday, March 27th
Men’s Bible Study is at 7 a.m. in the Guild Room.
The Holy Eucharist is at 12:15 p.m. in the Chapel.
Supper, Song & Prayer is in the Parish Hall beginning at 6 p.m.  Everyone is welcome!
Godly Play is at 6:30 p.m. in the Library.  Godly Play is for Pre-K thru 5th grade children.
We will explore The Mystery of Easter.
Youth Group meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Youth Room.
Handbells is at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.


Thursday, March 28th
Men’s Bible Study is at 7 a.m. in the Guild Room.
Women of the Word is at 9 a.m. in the Guild Room.
Chancel Choir is at 6:30 p.m. in the Choir Room.
Maundy Thursday Service is at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
The Watch is at 8 p.m. in the Chapel.

 
Friday, March 29th
Men’s Bible Study is at 7 p.m. in the Guild Room.
Holy Folders are at 10 a.m. in the Founders’ Room.
AA Meeting is at 10 a.m. in the Guild Room.
Good Friday Service is at 12 noon and 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

 
Saturday, March 30th
Silent Saturday is at 7 a.m. in the Curry Garden.
Flower Guild is at 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary.
Harmony Rehearsal is at 3 p.m. in the Parish Hall.
Easter Vigil is at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

 
The Day of Resurrection, Easter Day, March 31st
Sunday Services are at 8 a.m. Traditional in the Sanctuary, 10 a.m. Harmony in the Parish Hall,
10 a.m. Traditional in the Sanctuary.
Youth Group will meet at 9—9:50 a.m. in the Youth Room.  Come and be a part of this great group!
Nursery available from 9:45 a.m. in the Nursery.
Children’s Chapel begins at 9:45 a.m. in the Nursery coordinating with each service.  Children will return to the service at the Offertory time.
Sunday School is at 9:50 a.m. in the Guild Room.
Easter Egg Hunt is at 9 a.m. in the Curry Garden.

 

Monday, April 1st
Church Office is Closed.
AA is at 12 noon in the Guild Room.
Confirmation Class is at 6:30 p.m. in the Founders’ Room.
Parenting Class is at 6:30 p.m. in the Guild Room.
Yoga is at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall.
